Net Defense can send an e-mail message that alerts you about any attack on your computer.
To enable Net Defense e-mail notification:
1 Click the Settings button.
2 Click Net Defense, then click the E-mail Notification tab.
3 Select Enable e-mail notification.
4 In the From box, type an e-mail address, such as your e-mail address.
5 In the To box, type your e-mail address or a system administrator’s e-mail address.
6 In the Subject box, type the subject for the messages that Net Defense sends.
7 In the SMTP box, type your outgoing e-mail server’s name. You can obtain this information from your Internet service provider or system administrator.
8 To set the notification frequency, click Advanced E-mail Configuration.
From the Notify me every list, select how often Net Defense sends e-mail messages when an attack takes place.
9 If your outgoing e-mail server requires you to provide a user name and password, select My E-mail Server Requires Authentication.
10 In the User Name box, type your user name. This is typically the first part of your e-mail address. In the Password box, type your password.
11 Click OK.
12 To test the e-mail notification system, click Send Test E-mail.
